Vanity Network's official server rules

Breaking any of the rules below will result in a punishment, including a warning, kick, permanent ban or a temporary ban.

Vanity Network reserves the right to exclude you from the main server, discord, forums and tebex store at any time if we don't believe you're here for good intention.

To report a player for a broken rule, you will need to create a ticket in our discord 'Discord.gg/VanityNetwork' no more than 24 hours after the incident took place. We go by a 'no clip, no sit' rule, which means you MUST provide a clip for action to be taken. Please provide the following when reporting:
1) A clip of the incident
2) The players ID if possible (Press your U key in game to get this)
3) There MUST be sound in the clip you provide
4) The reason you're reporting the player/group

Any action from a staff member is final. Feel free to appeal your ban following the right format if you feel like your ban is incorrect. Messaging staff or talking about your ban in general chats will result in a ban from the platform you're using.

(General Server Policy)
You must have a working microphone with push to talk setup to take part in the server.
Names must be realistic and cannot be offensive
Any advertisement that is not Vanity related or approved within the city or the discord will result in a ban
Everyone must be treated with respect, including the people you may not get on with
Anyone caught selling/attempting to sell anything in game for real life cash will be blacklisted.
Any form of OOC bullying within the server will result in a blacklist
Anyone found being toxic will be removed from the community

1) Twitch TOS

We welcome twitch streamers with open arms here at Vanity, and ask that you follow the Twitch TOS and Community Guidelines while in the server. These can be found here: https://www.twitch.tv/p/en/legal/terms-of-service/

2) Racism, transphobia, homophobia
Anyone found to be using racial, derogatory or homophobic slurs will be blacklisted from Vanity Network.

3) Harassment
Any unwanted physical, verbal or sexual harassment will not be tolerated anywhere within Vanity Network, and if caught doing so, you will be blacklisted from all our platforms.

4) Random Deathmatch (RDM)
Killing a player without any build-up or storyline is considered RDM and will result in punishment.
Players must be visible to each other in order to initiate. You cannot initiate from a vehicle
The player you're initiating on needs to be given a chance to respond to the initiation to better the RP
You must have a valid reason to initiate on a player

5) Vehicle Deathmatch (VDM)
Intentionally using your vehicle to hit or kill a player is considered VDM this includes the following:
If you've accidentally hit a player and knocked them with your vehicle, you must go back to them and apologise/help them
Putting your vehicle in front of oncoming traffic at high speeds
Hitting a player slowly to knock them over is also considered VDM

6) Pitting
Pitting is allowed in the city, however it needs to be within reason and not at excessive speeds. No one should be pitting a vehicle above 100mph. You should also be aware of your surroundings when attempting to pit as well. (Pitting on top of a mountain is frowned upon).

7) GTA Driving and General Driving
Using a vehicle in a way it isn't designed to be used for is considered GTA Driving, this also includes:
Taking unrealistic jumps intentionally
Using any vehicle that isn't off-road capable to go off road and up mountains (You can drive across obvious dirt roads)
Your 'non off-road vehicle' cannot go off road even if you've put off-road tyres on it
All vehicles can drive on train tracks
You do not have to RP out crashes, no matter how fast you're going, you can continue to drive
The Lamborghini Revuelto Off-Road Lifted 2023 cannot be used in any crime - Using this vehicle in crime will result in a 1 day ban.

8) Fail RP/Poor RP

Doing anything that is considered impossible/unrealistic within the server is considered FailRP. If you can't physically do a motion within the game via emotes, we ask that you /me it instead to increase the scene that you're in. Not roleplaying with NHS, PD or other players because you want to get the scene over with is also considered FailRP and will result in punishments. Using /me to tie people is also not allowed, we have handcuffs etc for a reason. A few other things that you shouldn't be doing are:
"/me puts knife to throat" while you're driving a vehicle (Other passengers in the vehicle are allowed to do this)
Pretending you're dead for something that wouldn't kill you to avoid being arrested
Telling the NHS your injuries aren't that bad to get out of the hospital quicker

9) Breaking Character
While you're in city, you should be in character 100% of the time, including the time before server restarts. Anyone caught breaking character will receive punishments. A few examples of breaking character are as follows:
Talking about putting a player into a player report, lottery ticket or gov sit.
Using words like:
AFK
VDM
RDM
Streaming
Discord
GTA
Roasties (in context of speaking about roleplay)
Roast potatoes (in context of speaking about roleplay)
Any words that imply OOC words within roleplay.
Some of the phrases that we will allow within the server are:
Import (Tebex vehicle, item or purchase)
Deported (Banned from the server)
Muscle (A key on your keyboard or mouse)
Headpop (You're lagging)
Voicebox (Your microphone)
Going to sleep (Logging out of the server)
City (The server)
In my head (In real life)
My Eyes (What you can see on your screen)

10) Powergaming
Powergaming is a bit like FailRP. You cannot do any action that is deemed unrealistic or impossible, this includes the following:

Carrying a player whilst in a vehicle

Carrying someone through a door

Storing or pulling a vehicle from a garage to get away from police or another gang/player
Cuffing someone who is actively moving
Keeping hold of someone using the carry/escort feature while you're down

11) Stage 1 & Stage 2
When you 'go down' in the city, there is two stages:
Stage 1 - You are on the floor bleeding from being injured and have a countdown of 5 minutes to get medical attention. During this time, you can still speak, call NHS or police and take in any information around you, however you must RP out your injuries to the best of your ability.
Stage 2 - Your screen will go dark and your countdown timer will be 10 minutes. This means you are completely dead. You should not be talking and no information should be taken in. You should not be receiving treatment under any circumstance, this includes dirty doctor. Anyone caught attempting to give you treatment will face punishments. You can respawn after the countdown timer has expired as long as the scene is clearly over. If police or NHS are with you before you go stage 2, it is at their discretion to get you revived while stage 2.

12) New life rule (NLR)
If you die (stage 2), your character loses all memory and information leading up to your death. You cannot speak about what happened in the scene that caused you to die, and your friends cannot remind you of the incident. Going back to the scene straight after you've just died is also not allowed.

13) Failure to value life
While in the server, you are required to value your life at all times
You need to fear if:

1 or more melee weapons are in close proximity of you
1 firearm is pointed at you
If a person/gang has you hostage and are requesting information, you are to give them what they want, or make up a story (this is at your own risk) (The information they're asking for has to be within reason) - No one can force you to withdrawal money from your bank, make you take items from your MLO, office/apartment or give up safe codes.

14) Suicide RP/Terrorist RP
This type of RP is strictly forbidden within Vanity Network and will result in a permanent ban from the server

15) Metagaming
Using information that you've learnt outside the city is strictly prohibited within Vanity and will result in long term bans. This includes the following:

Taking information from streams that you didn't learn in character
While in the server, you are NOT allowed to be in a livestream of someone who is also in the server. If you are caught in their chat or under their viewership, you are liable for a metagaming ban
If you have multiple characters in the city, you are NOT allowed to keep information learnt on separate characters. For example; you have a PD character and are aware of a warrant on someone, you cannot go and tell that person of the warrant on your other character as this character has not learnt that information.

16) Robberies/Heists
Below you will find the rules regarding robberies and heists:
Robberies/Heists cannot be committed within 20 minutes of a server restart

Running red lights purposely in front of the police for a chase
Committing crime in front of them for no reason but to get a reaction

18) Scamming
Scamming players for illegal items is allowed in the server, this includes:
Any items made from heists/robberies
Weapons (Including guns)
Items used for heists/robberies
Rolls, bands and bags of cash
Scamming players for legal items is not allowed and will result in a ban, this includes: Vehicles and legal items that are made in a legitimate way

19) Green Zones/Green Grass
A green zone/green grass is an area within the city where no initiation can take place
If a scene starts outside of a green zone, it may be continued if it goes inside the zone
You cannot intentionally run into a green zone to avoid RP
Scamming inside of a green zone is allowed
Green Zones on the server:
All Hospitals (Including the car park, outside the front/back and on the roof)
Police Stations (Including the car park and outside the reception)
PDM (Car Dealership)

20) Erotic RP (ERP)
ERP is allowed on the server, as along as it is consensual. If someone says, no, it means no. Taking part in ERP when someone has not given consent will result in a lengthy ban from the server

21) Force RP
Forcing your way into a scene that you have no involvement in or has any relation to your character is considered Force RP and will result in punishment

22) Combat logging/Combat storing
Logging out of the server to avoid losing items or avoid RP is considered combat logging and will result in a ban
Storing items in a vehicle or stash during an active scene is considered combat storing and will result in a ban

23) Ninja Looting
Robbing players for the sake of getting free/easy items when you had no relation to their killing is considered Ninja Looting, this also includes searching random cars for free items.

If you're in a scene and you think someone has broken a rule, continue with the scene and still give 100%. Deal with the rule break via a ticket after the scene has completely finished

25) Camping Locations
Staying in a spot for a significant amount of time to rob, kill or initiate on someone is considered Camping Locations and will result in a ban from the server.

26) Prisoner Rescue
If your friend has been arrested, you are allowed to stop the police from taking them as long as your friend isn't inside the PD. Once your friend is past the PD gates, you cannot take a hostage or attempt to get your friend back unless the police do a prisoner transport up to the prison
Using helicopters/planes or attempting to glitch out of prison will result in punishments.

27) Roleplay over Weapon Play
If it is possible, you should always strive to roleplay out a scene instead of instantly pulling a weapon. This includes killing police officers for a simple traffic stop/speaking to.

28) Cheating/Exploiting
Anyone found to be using mods/hacks within the server will be blacklisted from Vanity Network. This also includes using exploits/loopholes within the city.

29) Hostage Takings
You cannot use a fake hostage for robberies/heists at any point
You can hold a hostage for a maximum of 1 hour
You cannot take on duty NHS hostage
You are allowed to take police officers hostage, however you must not 'make' them push panic buttons to get a better response

30) Stealing police equipment
Certain items can be stolen from police officers, however you must have a valid RP reason for doing so.
Items that can be stolen:
Flashlights
Spikestrips

Handcuffs
Anything that isn't on this list cannot be taken from a police officer. Stealing equipment you shouldn't have will result in a ban from the server

33) Corruption within PD
Corruption within the PD is not allowed unless you have your story/reasoning approved by a Senior Admin or above. Create a ticket in the discord to get your request reviewed

34) Voice ID
Radio:

  • Radio names do not mask your voice, radio names are there to be identifiable on the frequency, this does not change your voice.
  • Only time this would be classed as Voice ID is if your character hasn't met the character you are speaking to on the radio and you or they recognise the voice from an OOC perspective.
  • To mask your voice and remain unidentifiable, you must use a voice changer or change your voice by putting on a different voice / accent in attempt to mask yourself.
Calls
  • Calling someone anonymously doesn't mask your voice, it masks your phone number.
  • Same rules apply in terms of masking your voice as the radio section.
Clothing
  • Your character cannot recognise someone from their voice in any situation that will result in any negative way for them, this includes being arrested and being harmed or killed. You can Voice ID people if it's a general conversation and will result in no negatives for the other person. You can use clothing, tattoos, hair, vehicles, number plates and other distinct traits someone may have to recognise them.

35) Helicopter/Plane Usage
Helicopters/Planes must fly above 500ft at all times while in use unless landing on a helipad or the airports.
Helicopters/Planes cannot land in the main city unless it's on a helipad.
Anyone flying stupidly or doing anything deemed unrealistic while in a helicopter or a plane will be met with punishments.
You cannot use helicopters or planes to get people out of prison.
You cannot use helicopters or planes to do any corner selling.
You cannot use helicopters or planes at the start of a heist, however they can be used later into the chase for a decamp.

36) Loitering
Emergency Buildings - Loitering around emergency buildings without a valid roleplay story is not allowed. Buildings include:
- POLICE STATIONS
- HOSPITALS
- FIRE STATIONS

37) Community Leaders
People that are of the following are considered community leaders; Police Command, NHS Command, LFB Command, and business owners including gang leaders. These players should be the leading source of quality story lines and consistently remaining as strong roleplayers. The community leaders are held to a higher standard under our rules. You may also become a community leader by ensuring you consistently creating high standard roleplay scenarios for yourself and others.

38) Spam
Spamming police dispatches and any other emergency dispatch is punishable by a warning up towards a ban at most depending on the severity of the spam. This also includes reports to government made in city.

39) Police Radar
Criminals should be fully aware that committing repeated crimes and pose a threat to both police and civilians will result in that criminal or group to be on the 'Police Radar' this allows the police service to do what is within their power to stop you from continuing in doing what is deemed as threatening and repeated offences. This is known as 'dangerous offenders' and 'severity assessment' - police have the ability to liaise with CPS & Judiciary to warrant raids, seizure of financial assets and other assets, extended sentencing, and so on. Although is it very rare, a life sentence is also possible.

Vanity Network reserves the right to amend rules at any point without notice. Make sure you are familiar with the rules before taking part in any RP at Vanity Network.

40) Police Rules
While roleplaying as n police officer on Vanity Network, you are required to abide by the following rules or punishments may be issued:

Police can only shoot car tyres if the occupants inside have shot at police while out or inside the vehicle, or purposely ran a police officer over. You MUST utilise spike strips for anything else, it's what they're there for.

Police are required to go by the 'class for class' rule. This means that police must use the same level of firearm as a criminal is using unless a formal operation is going ahead or the officer is outnumbered by 3 or more people. A few examples are below:

Criminal has knife - Police may use a class 1
Criminal has a pistol - Police may use a class 1
Criminal has an Uzi - Police may use a class 2
Criminal has an AK47 - Police may use a class 3
5 criminals are surrounding an armed officer and he has no other officers near him, he may pull out a class 2/3 to protect himself when outnumbered by 3+ people.

If a police officer is completely killed (Stage 2) during a shootout, they cannot get back involved in the same scene when they respawn, this includes if panic buttons go or officers are asking for assistance. You must situate yourself to another radio and deal with something else.

41) Combat Cuffing

SURRENDER POSITION

The player has to be in a surrender position in order to cuff them. This means, you are authorised to cuff a player only if they are:
  • On the floor after a tackle, baton, taser, firearm, has been deployed or conducted or if they are knocked out;
  • They surrendered by placing their hands up or on their knees;
  • They have consented to being cuffed by letting you know they gave up.
You should never cuff a player who is running away from you or someone who is not in a surrender position as stated above, as this is powergaming or in other words, combat cuffing, giving the player no chance to escape where it's also considered poor roleplay - win hungry.

42) Lawyer Corruption
You cannot be a corrupt lawyer for many reasons as this provides an unfair advantage to the corruptive side and this can break others roleplay. When someone gets arrested they're expected to receive legal advice from the lawyers to prevent further self-incrimination, etc. You can become a corrupt lawyer by creating a ticket in the Vanity Network discord. We expect those who want to take the corruptive side to hold high-standard roleplay and a great corrupt storyline, not simply to make money.
